Identity — The Person Behind the Bow

💛Who you are determines everything you do

Before an archer ever releases an arrow, there’s a still moment.
Feet grounded. Shoulders squared. Breath steady.

That moment determines everything.

No matter how perfect the bow or sharp the arrow, if the person behind it isn’t steady, the aim will always be off.

That’s what God began showing me about identity.

We often focus on the aim, such as the goals, tasks, or the direction we want to go, but overlook the one holding the bow.

Our stance matters. Our posture matters.

If we don’t know who we are, everything else we aim at will feel uncertain.

And that’s where the journey of alignment begins...with Identity.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll slow down and unpack what it truly means to know who you are before you ever take aim because until you understand your identity, everything else will feel unstable.

🌿 Remembering who you are and who you belong to

The world constantly tells us to build identity around achievement, appearance, and approval.
We’re taught to define ourselves by what we do — the roles we fill, the titles we carry, or the people we care for.

That kind of identity is fragile. It shifts with seasons, success, and circumstance.

True identity is unshakable because it’s rooted in something eternal.

It’s not something you earn or lose. It’s who you already are — made in the image of God, chosen, and loved before you ever accomplished a thing.

When we remember that, something powerful happens.
We stop aiming for approval and start aiming from alignment.
We stop striving to prove our worth and start living from the truth that we already have it.

You are not what you do. You are who He says you are — chosen, loved, and designed with intention.

That’s how your aim becomes steady.
That’s how peace replaces pressure.

🎯 Living in alignment with your true identity

Once you know who you are, everything else flows from that truth.
Your purpose takes shape.
Your destiny comes into view.
And your decisions begin to line up with who you were created to be.

So this week, I want to invite you to pause and realign.

Ask yourself:
➡️ Where have I been trying to find my identity outside of God?
➡️ What roles or expectations have defined me more than His truth?
➡️ What would shift in my life if I started living from who I am instead of what I do?

Sometimes alignment starts with remembering who you were before the world told you who to be.

You are not an accident. You are not behind. You are not too much or not enough.
You are known, created, and seen by God.
And everything begins there.

🙏 A Prayer for Alignment

“God, remind me of who I am in You.
Help me see beyond titles and expectations,
beyond what I’ve done or failed to do.
Teach me to live from the truth that I am Your child,
fearfully and wonderfully made.
May my stance in life be steady because my foundation is You.”

Next Monday, we’ll continue exploring Identity by looking at what happens when life, pain, or insecurity begin to challenge who we are. Because before we can live from identity, we have to recognize what’s been trying to steal it.
